PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
COMMITMENT
The Junior Firefighters meet twice a month: one for meeting and learning and one for hands-on training. They also attend special practices, parades, and community events. School always comes first, and members are encouraged to balance academics with program activities.
OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS
ELIGIBILITY
This program is designed for motivated youth ages 12–17 who are serious about learning firefighting skills. Participants wear real turnout gear and dress uniforms, gaining experience similar to active firefighters, but in a safe, age-appropriate way.
BECOMING AN ADULT MEMBER
TRANSITION
Once a junior has been a member for at least a year and reaches age 17, they become eligible to join the regular fire department. Interested applicants should complete the online application with parental/guardian permission to get started.
